The New Jersey State Bar Foundation is now accepting submissions for its Seventh Annual Art Show. The juried show is open to artwork created by lawyers, judges, law professors, law students and other law-related professionals. Deadline for submission is Friday, July 13, 2018, with notice of acceptance in the show by Friday, August 24, 2018. For the 2018 Art Show Prospectus and Registration Form, click here.

The Foundation will host an Artists’ Opening Reception on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Accepted artwork will remain on display until October 26, 2018. To register for the reception, click here.

Last year, the NJSBF received 90 submissions for the show from 32 artists working in a variety of mediums, including sculpture, wood carving, photography, oils, watercolor, pastels, pen and ink, as well as mixed media.

Ryan Stark Lilienthal placed first with his painting “Small World Coffee on Town.” Lilienthal’s painting “Tear Sheet” placed third in last year’s show.

“I have found practicing law to be a meaningful way to engage in, and to understand, the lives of others from all walks of life,” Lilienthal said. “In painting, I seek a process that awakens me in a similar way—to see the people and world around me.”
