Do you offer free legal advice?
No. The New Jersey State Bar Foundation is a non-profit organization that offers FREE law-related education to the public and educators. We have no attorneys on staff. We do provide several publications on specific areas of law on our Publications page.
Can you recommend an attorney?
Can I report a problem with my attorney to you?
I’m looking for a particular attorney who I worked with before but can’t locate. Can you help me?
Can I obtain my Bar Exam results from you?
No. The Foundation does not administer the bar exam. You can contact the New Jersey Board of Bar Examiners at 609-815-2911 or via their website.
How do I go about renting a meeting room at the New Jersey Law Center?
You may either call 732-249-5000 and request the NJSBA Meetings Department or email them at [email protected]
If a training is full when I try to register, is there a wait list?
Yes. If you find that a workshop is closed when registering, you can join a “wait list” (a link is provided from the workshop registration page. You may also CLICK HERE to be added to a wait list. Please include your name, school district, desired workshop, date of the workshop and your email address. If space opens up, we will let you know.
If I can’t attend a training, can I send someone else in my place?
No. As general rule, each attendee must register so that PD Credits can be issued. Our policy is first come, first serve. If you cancel your registration by emailing us, we contact the next person on the wait list.
However, we will try to accommodate changes where we can, space permitting. Please email us at [email protected] to request a change in registration for an upcoming workshop (please note the name and date of the workshop for which you are registered).
I am a New Jersey educator. Will I receive professional development credit for attending an NJSBF training?
Yes. The New Jersey State Bar Foundation provides professional development credits for participants who attend a workshop or webinar in its entirety. PD Credits vary by type of training and are listed on each workshops registration page. For in-person workshops, 5.5 PD Credits are earned. For virtual workshops, 3.0 PD Credits are earned and for virtual webinars, 2.0 PD Credits are earned.
I am a New Jersey attorney. Can I receive NJ CLE credit at NJSBF public programs?
No, but NJ-admitted attorneys may be eligible for CLE credit for volunteering to coach a high school mock trial team or judging a high school contest in our Vincent J.
