Courtroom News Reporter Competition
Competing in the NJSBF Courtroom News Reporter Competition is free and open to high school students in public, private, charter and home schools in New Jersey.
Aspiring young journalists will cover mock trials in their counties. Articles will be written solely by the student news reporters without outside help. One winner will accompany the State Championship Mock Trial team to the National High School Mock Trial Championship in May and will vie for the title of National Mock Trial Student News Reporter.
The NJSBF’s High School Mock Trial Competitions provide an interactive educational experience that enhances students’ writing, speaking and analytical skills as they learn about the justice system.
Check back this fall for information on the 2026-2027 competition. Please contact Drew Petway at dpetway@njsbf.org with any questions.
