What Comes Next? Your Rights after a Domestic Violence Final Restraining Order

The New Jersey State Bar Foundation offered a a free virtual program about navigating the legal system for people who have experienced domestic violence. A panel of family law experts explained what steps are necessary for people who need to pursue post-domestic violence legal action after a Final Restraining Order.
This program covered a range of topics, including legal terms to know and understand, such as the difference between a dissolution matter and a non-dissolution matter. Other topics of discussion included: custody, support and parenting time issues; housing and leases; finances and assets; insurance matters; communication strategies; what to do about pets; and more.
