The mission of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, to increase knowledge of the law and legal system, is accomplished by informing, educating, training, and supporting the citizens of New Jersey. The belief that ‘informed citizens are better citizens’ is reflected in everything the Foundation offers.

Through programs, publications, mock trial competitions, educator trainings, scholarships and grant funding, the Foundation touches hundreds of thousands of lives in New Jersey, all with the singular goal of increasing appreciation and awareness of the law.
This year, more than 5,000 students and teachers participated in mock trial competitions for elementary, middle, and high school students. Over 3,000 educators attended free trainings to promote a positive school climate. Nearly 3,500 schools received free copies of our law- and civics-related publications. We distributed more than 390,000 copies of our civics and law-related publications to schools and the public. We reached 7,000 members of the public through webinars, conferences and our Speakers Bureau.
Scholarships were awarded to 13 law students. We awarded grant funding to 45 New Jersey nonprofits for law-related education projects. In addition to providing grant funding to cosponsor Law Day events for County and Affinity Bar Associations, we also provided funding to support summer associates and law fellows at 13 nonprofits who provide law-related services to the public throughout the state.
We applaud our 1,100 volunteer attorneys. We could not accomplish all we do without support from members of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the broader legal community.
I am proud to present our 2025 Impact Report and invite you to read more here.
