The New Jersey State Bar Foundation will host the 2018 Student Assistance Coordinators Workshop at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick on Wednesday, May 2, from 5:30 to 8 pm.

This free two-hour program will examine current and upcoming issues facing student assistance coordinators, including the impact of trauma and mental health on student performance, as well as bullying and school climate. In addition, current legal issues and resources on drug and alcohol treatment will be discussed.

Speakers featured at the workshop will include Jennifer R. Jones, Psy.D, LPC, Associate Director of Mental Health for the Adolescent and Young Adults at Riker’s Island and Elissa Zylbershlag, the Foundation’s Director of Conflict Resolution Programs and Anti-Bias Initiatives.

The program begins with a light supper at 5:30 pm and the workshop to commence at 6 pm. While the program is free, pre-registration is required and space is limited to 65 student assistance coordinators. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendees may register online or by calling 1-800-FREE LAW.
